Cantor Deborah Jacobson currently serves as part-time cantor of Temple Judea of Manhasset, NY.
Other Temples she has served include: The Reform Temple of Forest Hills with Rabbi Mark Kaiserman, Temple Ahavat Shalom in Palm Harbor, Florida with Rabbi Gary Klein, Temple Beth El in Stamford, Connecticut with Rabbi Joshua Hammerman, and West End Synagogue in Manhattan with Rabbis Avi Winokur and Yael Ridberg. Raised in a modern Orthodox Jewish home in New Rochelle, NY, Cantor Jacobson has proudly served at a Reconstructionist, Conservative, and Reform Synagogue as Cantor. She believes her experience in the various movements enables her to bring a unique perspective and sensitivity in her work as a Jewish clergy. Cantor Deborah Jacobson received her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University and a Masters in sacred music and ordination of Hazzan (Cantor) from the H.L. Miller Cantorial School of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, in Manhattan.
Cantor Jacobson officiates at weddings and funerals, Brit milot and baby namings. She teaches Torah trope and Haftarah and works privately with bar/bat mitzvah students. She provides pastoral counseling and visits those in need. Cantor Jacobson participates in many community programs both Jewish and interfaith, adding the beauty and inspiration of prayers and music wherever and whenever she can. She is a certified facilitator of Prepare-Enrich: Building Strong Marriages and is a certified facilitator of Strong Girls, Healthy Relationships.

Deborah is a member of the American Conference of Cantors, the Cantors Assembly, and the Women Cantors Network. Cantor Jacobson has served on the development and fundraising committee of the American Conference of Cantors, the membership committee of the Cantors Assembly, the national leadership council of Jewish Women International, as President of the Bay Area Cantorial Association, and on the Tampa board of Jewish National Fund. She is a lifetime member of Hadassah.
